Alleged aggression added to driving under the influence charges

When a California driver is accused of driving while intoxicated, it is a serious situation, and if law enforcement officers allege aggressive behavior, the consequences can be even more severe in the event of a conviction. After an incident in South San Francisco on a recent Saturday evening, a woman who was arrested for driving under the influence will likely need the skills of an experienced criminal defense attorney. She allegedly caused injuries to a driver when she collided with another vehicle.

According to an accident report, a 46-year-old woman crashed into another car. Police officers reportedly determined that the woman was impaired and subjected her to several sobriety tests. It is alleged that she became aggressive at this time, and she was arrested after she allegedly assaulted an officer. The other driver suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The intoxicated woman's blood alcohol level was not published, but she was reportedly locked up in the Maguire Correctional Facility. Her arrest was for suspicion of felony DUI, delaying and obstructing an investigation and battering an officer. The injuries to the other driver were reported to be non-life-threatening.

Following her arrest for driving under the influence, this California woman will probably rely on the experience of a skilled criminal defense attorney to provide guidance through the legal processes that will follow. After assessing the circumstances that gave rise to the arrest, the lawyer will likely scrutinize the procedures followed by the officers. The accused woman may challenge the evidence presented in court, and only when guilt is proved beyond a reasonable doubt can a conviction be obtained.
