California man facing charges for driving under the influence

Most California residents are probably aware of the serious repercussions that can occur from driving under the influence. At times, a first offender can make a onetime mistake and be able to face the charges and move forward with their life. Recently, a local man caused an accident after a police chase and now faces charges for driving under the influence.

According to reports, the chase started around 3 a.m. when police attempted to stop the man. Rather than stopping, the man proceeded sped off of the highway and through local back roads. It was at that time the man apparently lost control of his vehicle and crashed through a stop sign, a tree, and a fence before stopping within feet of a home.

Officers approached the vehicle with their weapons drawn as they made contact with the man to place him under arrest. His passenger, a 25-year-old man was treated for injuries on the scene and was released. The driver, a 26-year-old man was arrested and is facing multiple charges. This is reportedly the man's third DUI charge.

Any California resident facing charges for driving under the influence may want to look into their rights under the applicable state laws. When facing charges of such a serious nature, it can be important to know one's rights and know the best action to take. With the proper knowledge of one's rights, they can be more aware of what to expect and more hopeful the best positive outcome can be achieved.
